Unrealized music video.
This was going to be a music video for Abel Siemens' “Sounds Behind My Bedroom Door". I would link to the song, but it looks like he's removed it from the internet. The video in the frame above (Here's the link if the embedded one doesn't work) is the intro to the video, and is the only part I'm really proud of and comfortable showing. I cut and overlayed some stock footage of flowers in time with the music.
Abel sent me the lyrics and I interpreted them as a man struggling immensely with (honestly) a denied and twisted desire. The rest of the video (which I shot, but wasn't pre-produced enough) sketches a phone call with undercurrents, a door closing, and the aftermath of sex. The music takes a turn, distorting and slowing down, and the light goes out of the shots, leaving just red. I show abstract lips and thighs and hands, and ultimately the male character of the video kneeling in reverance.
It was a really strange project, I appreciate the two folks I filmed indulging me. This definitely won't be finished, but I guess I learned a lot from it.
